Teaching Things and My Future

So yeah, I became fully aware of the reality when I was interned at a public school as physics teacher, where everything follows government regulations and curriculum. There was a lot of ambiguity in the rules, constantly changing and overwhelming administration, which prevented teachers from focusing on teaching. Instead, they spent most of their time dealing with administrative tasks just to ensure their smoll salary was paid. The curriculum was poorly designed, and there was pressure from the principal to improve the school’s accreditation. On top of that, parents would often complain whenever teachers tried to discipline their extremely disrespectful children.

I love teaching but my mental isn't ready for all of that shit. I feel like I would rather teach at a private school that doesn’t follow the government curriculum, but I lack the qualifications and experience. That’s why I planned to be a tutor on a platform to gain experience and build my CV

However, I’m trying to apply to one of the reputable learning platforms to become one of their tutors. The reason I’m interested is that they have a well-structured curriculum and detailed guidelines on how to teach on their platform. I think that’s really good if i got experience and skill from them because I can apply those skills anywhere I go for teaching. I will start my test tomorrow to get a job. If I pass, I will start working as a tutor.

Just wish me luck!

Update 28 February 2025

I have passed and will start teaching in March. The subjects I will teach are physics and math. The salary isn't low, but it's not high either. I'm just planning to work here for one year to gain experience. It would be great if I could become a tutor for an international curriculum. But for now, I should focus on the classes I will be tutoring.

Update 3 January 2026

I have learned much from the place where I am working. I learned how to teach and deal with students. Not only that, I have an opportunity to become a private tutor at the company. It is truly enjoyable. However, due to some personal reasons that I cannot mention, I quit at December 15, 2025 and become a NEET now.

Update 21 January 2026

I got a job as a math teacher at a private school and started working on January 12. It is kinda a good news. The students are good, the fellow teachers are good, mostly everything is good, except for the salary.

The salary is neither very high nor very low, but I feel that it is not sufficient for me, considering that I live far from the city and need around five hours each day to commute back and forth. i feel it is kinda not worthy. I hope they will offer a higher salary if they accept me as a permanent teacher, since currently I am on a six-month contract.

I will try to gain as much experience as possible here while learning many things to improve my skills. It feels like this place will become a stepping stone for me. I am aiming to teach at an international school with a higher salary.

When I really think about it, I start to question is that I truly want to be a teacher?. It feels like I want to switch careers. Maybe I will try to learn new skills and see whether there are opportunities to make that career switch.
